Boston Mensa recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of personally identifiable information collected about you. We have adopted this policy in order to be as transparent as possible regarding our use of information collected on our site(s).
Boston Mensa does not collect personally identifying information about individuals except when specifically and knowingly provided for RG registrations, Calendar listings, etc.
Personally identifiable information (name, email address, etc) that we collect will only be used for the purposes stated at the time of collection. For example, if you provide an email address when registering for an RG, we will use it to confirm receipt of your registration and payment.
Depending on the options you select when registering for RGs, we may also share your name and email address with future Boston Mensa RGs, other Region 1 RGs, and display your name in a list of those who have already registered. The names of those under 21 are always withheld, but ages are displayed to assist other parents in determining whether to bring their children.
Names entered in RG guestbooks are always displayed. Do not sign the guestbook if you do not want your name displayed.
Contact and location information provided for Calendar listings will not be publically visible to non-logged-in users unless included in the public event description field. Only users with valid American Mensa credentials (membership # / password) will be able to see the non-public information. Do not include information that you do not want made public in the public event description field of Calendar listings.
Names entered (explicitly or implicitly via login) in public forums and comment areas on Boston Mensa’s sites are always displayed. Do not participate in these areas if you do not want your name displayed.
Except as stated in this privacy policy or at the time of collection, a user’s personally identifiable information will not be transferred outside of Boston Mensa.
Parents: Boston Mensa does not intentionally collect information from children. Any personally identifiable information that we are made aware is from children posting without their parent’s consent will be deleted.
